Cameras begin rolling today at Silver Dollar City, where production is underway on An Ozark Mountain Christmas, a new original Christmas movie from Great American Media set to air nationwide as part of the network’s Great American Christmas programming lineup later this year.
Filmed after the park’s season officially ended, Silver Dollar City is extending its world-famous Christmas décor into January, keeping millions of lights glowing to transform the park into a real-life holiday movie set. The production brings America’s No. 1 theme park holiday event, as ranked by USA TODAY, to screens across the country.
The film stars Brianna Cohen (A Royal Christmas Manor, Saving the Christmas Ranch) and Jonathan Stoddard (Crossroad Springs, A Royal Christmas Tail).
Surrounded by more than 6.5 million Christmas lights, live holiday shows and old-time traditions, the 1880s-themed park serves as an authentic Christmas setting for the feature film. Several of Silver Dollar City’s resident craftsmen also make cameo appearances, highlighting the real artisans that define the park’s Christmas experience.
Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Great American Media.
Brad Thomas, president of Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts, added, “For generations, families have made their Christmas memories here. To see the lights, the laughter and the craftsmanship captured on screen is a meaningful gift to everyone who loves Silver Dollar City.”
An Ozark Mountain Christmas follows a driven young designer who returns home to the Ozarks for Christmas, reconnects with her family’s legacy of craftsmanship and begins to reevaluate her priorities with the help of a local craftsman rooted in community and tradition.
The film will premiere during the 2026 holiday season on Great American Family, Great American Pure Flix and GFAM+. The movie is produced by Nicely Entertainment.
